  • Firstly there are some common eligibility criteria for students.
  • Also, applying should be a permanent residence of WB state.
  • Then, the annual family income of students should not be more than 2.5 lakh rupees.
  • Secondly, the eligibility criteria depend on student percentage previously.
  • So, for Higher Secondary levels. The student should qualify for the Madhyamik exam with 75% marks at least.
  • Then for diploma students. They should clear the exam from 1 year or 2nd year of diploma with 75% marks also.

1) Applicants must be domiciled of West Bengal and have been continuing education in institutes situated in West Bengal

2) Applicants must continue his/her study in educational institutions of West Bengal after passing out in the Current year from the West Bengal State Board/Council of Secondary/Higher Secondary and Madrasah Education and State University

3) Students must belong to Minority Community (Muslim / Christian / Sikh / Buddhist / Parsee & Jain)

4) Annual family income not exceeding Rs. 2.5 lakhs (Certificate to be issued by any gazetted Officer, not below the rank of Joint BDO).

Note:-Students are advised to submit only “One Application Form”. In case if students submit more than one application form then all the applications submitted by students will be considered as “Duplicates” and will be “Rejected”.

For Renewal Application
Applicant should apply online mode using Login Id and Password as used at the time of first application through the website www.wbmdfcscholarship.in. The documents in the original mentioned below must be uploaded and submitted the same within one month from the date of admission in the next higher class due to promotion by passing in the first attempt. ( in case of Semester mode – Mark sheet of 1st Semester and 2nd Semester for 2nd-year renewal; 3rd Semester and 4th Semester for 3rd renewal in U.G. and mark sheet of 1st Semester and 2nd Semester for 2nd-year renewal in case of P.G. All Semester Examinations need to be cleared in the first attempt). Renewal cases (applicable only at a particular level of study) will be sanctioned subject to good academic performance (Minimum 60% marks should be obtained from higher secondary Level to Undergraduate/Diploma Level at the promotional examination and 50% marks at Post Graduate Level).

The following documents are to be uploaded at the time of filing the online application:-
(i) Mark sheet of the last examination.
(ii) Income certificate in the prescribed format.
(iii) First page of the bank passbook mentioning clearly the A/C no. and IFSC details
(iv) Institute verification form duly authenticated by the Head of the Institution (HOI) in the prescribed format.
After the submission of the online application, the candidates are required to collect the institute verification form from the portal. The same will be required to be authenticated by the HOI and finally uploaded to the portal

Swami Vivekananda Scholarship Renewal (SVMCM)?

Every year, the winners of Swami Vivekananda scholarship (Bikash Bhavan Scholarship) have to apply for its renewal. Applicable only for some particular level of studies, the renewal cases are subject to one’s decent academic performance. The minimum score for renewal that one should obtain at the promotional level during one’s transition from higher secondary level to UG and Diploma level is 60% marks. However, to get a renewal at postgraduate level, one needs to obtain minimum 50% marks at the promotional level. Furthermore, one should pass/clear all semester examinations in the first attempt to be eligible for renewal.
